Agents Back Office FAQ

  • Q - We need to do an FTP upload directly to Lettingweb - to which URL do we need to send the FTP file to?
A - ftp.lettingweb.com (Please note you will need to have a valid username and password. If you do not have one please contact support@lettingweb.com ).

  • Q - We cannot enter the name of a property when it has no number, how can this be done?
A - You need to put the name of the property in the 'flat number' box.

  • Q - I am trying to put a property in a new development onto Lettingweb but the postcode does not seem to exist?
A - Simply choose the nearest postcode to the development so that it shows up in the right area and notify us of the new development and we will move it to the correct location for you.

  • Q - Why can't we choose the area we want a property to be in - our landlords sometimes ask for different areas to the ones the Lettingweb provides?
A - Our database is run using information provided by Royal Mail - properties are all therefore automatically placed into the correct area according to postcode - so the system does not allow for bespoke placements.

  • Q - We are having trouble uploading property photographs, what format should they be in?
A - Photographs should be saved as a JPEG (non animated) with 72DPI (dots per inch) and an aspect ratio of 3:2 (300x200px is the preferred size as no image manipulation occurs then) When property images are saved they are also scaled to maximum dimensions of 250x300 - and no stretching should occur. This example should illustrate the point better:

    OriginalSaved image
    750x900250x300
    500x600250x300
    750x600250x200 [*]
    500x900

    133x300

    125x150

    125x150

    [*]Image's proportions are unchanged.

Further Notes on Adding and Removing Images - Important

When adding and removing images to and from your properties remember that changes you make are not submitted until you save the property. So for example, if you reach the maximum number of images allowed for a property it will not let you upload any additional ones. You can remove an image to make room for the new one, but remember until you save the property this will not be updated so the system hasn't removed the photo and therefore won't let you  add the new one.
